Please be advised that the Official Publication fees for new trademark applications and recordals have been reduced effective from 9 June, 2022. This reduction will be applied retroactively for any trademark applications pending examination regardless of the filing date or recordals being filed after this date is subject to the new fees.
As per the online payment portal the new applicable publication fees in local currency are as follows (inclusive of VAT):
Publication fees for opposition purposes for regular trademarks, series of marks or a collective mark: 575 SAR
Publication Fees for effecting Renewals, License or Mortgage of a trademark registration: 1150 SAR
Publication Fees for recordal actions such as change of name and/or address, assignment, merger or amendment of a trademark registration: 575 SAR
Kindly note that there has been no official circular issued with regards to the fee reduction on publication fees issued as of date.
LEBANON
A new directive has been issued as per the officially published in Memo No. 6/1/A.T. of 2022, by the Ministry of Economy and Trade in Lebanon which states that trademark applications that includes words/characters in languages other than Arabic, English or French, must accompany an official Arabic translation, reflecting the words constituting the proposed mark certified by a sworn translator.
