Palestine: TM Renewal Grace Period extension & Reconstruction of Destroyed TM Files
Further to our previous circular (link) about TM renewals in Palestine, kindly note that the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy has issued a second administrative circular extending the penalty-free renewal window for Gaza trademarks to September 10, 2026. Meanwhile, as previously highlighted, the Palestinian trademark law maintains a statutory one-month grace period, and in practice, trademarks remain renewable until the Registrar serves a mandatory cancellation notice to the applicant or their recorded agent of service with a final one-month response window as of date of notification.
Additionally, please be advised that all physical trademark files were destroyed during the conflict, and the Trademark Office does not maintain digital records of these files. Therefore, in close coordination with the Trademark Office, JAH has reached an agreement to directly assist brand owners in reconstructing these destroyed trademark files to restore official records. In this respect, any brand owner, whether an existing client or not, can contact us so we can help reconstruct their trademark files and safeguard their IP rights.
Meanwhile, JAH takes pride in informing all of its clients and associates that our office has remained fully active since the Trademark Office steadily reopened. We have successfully and smoothly processed and filed a significant volume of trademark applications, renewals and other IP matters while maintaining uninterrupted daily coordination with the Registrar to monitor the status of our clients’ portfolios. Therefore, whether you require brand protection, registration, portfolio management or legal advice, our team stands ready to deliver proactive, seamless intellectual property solutions without delay.
UAE: Operational Procedure and Deadlines for UAE-Origin Madrid International TM Applications
Please note that a complementary fee of AED 400 (approximately USD 110) is payable to the UAE Office for certifying the international application for UAE applicants through the UAE online portal. This fee is separate from the WIPO international fees and must be paid through the UAE portal as part of the certification process. If interested, JAH Intellectual Property can assist with arranging and processing this payment on your behalf.
